…is going on with the Celtics?!?! They just keep losing and losing. A team that was once thought of as having a chance to win 73 games has lost 5 of their last 7 games. For Boston to achieve the record of most wins in a season they would have to go 54-2 for that to happen. On top of all that, three of the teams they lost to are pretty freakin awful; Knicks, Warriors, and Bobcats. What could be the cause of this crappy play? Was it the talk of winning 73? Possibly, but if you don’t pay attention to it, as every athlete says, then it shouldn’t bother you. How ’bout the thought of Marbury coming? That would make me sad, but that’s not it. Maybe it’s Kendrick Perkins’ negativity. Homeboy needs to smile more, but yeah that’s not it. The culprit? Terrible defense. I know…that’s the obvious answer. Ever since the Christmas loss to their rival Lakers, the Celtics haven’t had their minds right. Looks like it’s time for Pierce to fake another knee injury and come back like 5 minutes later. That usually pumps ‘em up. Apparently Pierce is the only one that can pull off the momentum changing injury because KG just tried it against the Knicks and failed. If the Celts are gonna fix this problem they need to do it soon because they have the Rockets coming up next. To add on to that, if the Celtics don’t get it together in the Houston game they will be in a world of hurt because then they have to play Cleveland. I’m sure they don’t want LeBron to crank that crab dribble (and do everything else LeBron does) all over them. Seriously though, the Celtics play top tier defense in this league, but in their five losses they’ve given up at least 91 points and it has gotten progressively worse. These dudes need to switch up their New Year’s resolutions from whatever they were to winning. Who knows maybe it’s good for the Celtics to lose so that they don’t lose when it counts (*cough Patriots *cough) make the Eastern Conference a little more interesting.
DISCLAIMER: I wish harm on no one and the whole Pierce injury thing is a joke even though I think he was faking in the Finals…that is all.

News outta the desert: Dee Brown is no longer a Phoenix Sun.

Maybe because I grew up watching him play at Illinois, I like him more than he deserves, but Brown should be on an NBA roster. I can think of at least a few teams (Golden State, Boston, Portland) who could use a backup or third string PG, something that Dee can readily be.
I just can’t get behind Brown getting cut.

Few things have been surprising so far in this 2008-2009 NBA campaign. The Celtics are good, the Thunder are (is? I hate teams with nicknames that don’t end in an “S”) bad, LeBron is dominating, Larry Hughes isn’t (what do you expect from a guy with a website named after his suckitude?) and Marbury is still a cancer. One surprising story of the first third is the emergence of a guy who played college ball at New Mexico, was drafted outside of the lottery and is holding together a franchise in a basketball-crazy area.

Hey just letting everyone know that I’m a new addition to the EC crew. I have another blog btw its called All Sports so check it out. Be easy

This is one of the funniest things i’ve experienced in a while.
The opera, the dance itself, the postgame interview, it’s all priceless.
It’s really a shame that Rod Benson can’t seem to catch on anywhere, I’d love to see him goofing in the NBA.
