Who’s Really the Best? Lebron Vs. Kobe

Most people would agree that Kobe and LeBron are the top 2 players in the NBA. However, arguments usually start over which one is better. I’ve been in a few myself. How bout this, I’ll look at some different aspects of their game and see who’s better.

Game Changing Ability- No doubt both players can heat up and take over a game at any point, but who’s better? Whenever their teams are in need of clutch shots, they go to these guys. Lebron carried his team was the team in the Game 5 Conference Finals game against the Pistons 2 years ago…that was amazing. However, when it gets down to the nitty gritty he travels…all the time. He doesn’t always get caught, but he’s doing it. Kobe has been one of the most clutch for years and still is. If my team was down by one with 10 seconds left, I’d want Kobe on my team. Oh, and he doesn’t travel. Sorry Bron. ADVANTAGE: KOBE

Athleticism- Let’s see. Both are athletic of course. Idk if you saw Kobe’s block on Rasual Butler the other night, but that was hot stuff right there. Oh, and I can’t forget that reverse pump dunk on the Hornets last year and many other dunks to go with it. However, Lebron gets this one because he just flies. No one wants fast breaks when they play the Cavs because Lebron is always there right behind them for the block. That tomahawk that Lebron does is just ridiculous. That mess is hard even if you lower the rim. ADVANTAGE: LEBRON

Raw Skill- Let’s see…Crossover. Kobe’s crossovers are way better than Lebron’s. Matter of fact, idk if Lebron has a real crossover other than him faking to the outside and driving the lane. Defense-wise they both play good defense. In international play no one can get past the wall known as Kobe, but in the NBA, Kobe’s defense is more of a when he feels like it kind of thing. Lebron always goes hard on both sides of the court so he tops Kobe in that. Back to the offense. Kobe’s shot is waaaaay better than Lebron’s. Kobe has taken the MJ fadeaway and made it his own…kinda. When I’m at the park playing, people don’t say Lebron everytime they shoot. When I wet one I know I say “Kobe.”  ADVANTAGE: KOBE

I’m just stopping here because I could go on with this all day, but most of these just come out to Kobe being the winner. Kobe today, in my opinion, could hold his own with MJin his prime if he was ever given the chance. That’s a controversial topic, but people hate on Kobe because they don’t want to admit that he’s just as good, if not better, than MJ. For those of you that wanna gripe about the number of championships someone wins, it’s not always about that. Bill Russell has 11 and people act like he doesn’t exist. Don’t get me wrong here, Lebron is highly skilled, but he’s just young. Give him more time and he will be better than Kobe and by the time he retires he will be, indisputably, the best player ever to pick up a basketball. Until that time, Mamba reigns supreme.
